This presentation is designed to introduce teachers and administrators to an overview of the technical, pedagogical, and logistical aspects of creating and delivering online content for their students, and will introduce staff development videos that identifies types of online classes, and videos that demonstrate how to use the K12 High Speed Network’s (K12HSN) Calaxy website, and the Moodle learning management system (LMS) to bring a class online. Regardless of a teacher’s technical experience, or what subject is taught, teachers can take advantage of the online resources presented, and take steps to place their class content online.
The resources shared are all freely available and accessible at all school sites. All staff development videos created were produced by the Merced County Office of Education (MCOE), METV, and in partnership with Le Grand Union High School District. The videos were made possible through a grant from the he K12 High Speed Network.
Mike Magboo is the IT Director at Le Grand Union High School District, a small rural district in California's Central Valley. He is also a Technology Coach, Father, Husband, and all around good guy. Mike has been a teacher for over 15 years.
